Occupational Therapy
Sensory Integration Programs
We provide Sensory Integration treatment program which is highly effective for children with sensory processing disorder and sensory modulation disorder. This protocol is mostly used in child with ASD (Autism spectrum disorder), ADHD, LD (learning disorder). SI protocol is based on plasticity within Central Nervous system, Plasticity refers to the abilities of brain structure to change and to be modified. We use this effective intervention plan through tactile, proprioceptive and vestibular sensory channels to organize child behavior and adapt in environment.
Comprehensive Assessment & Intervention Plan
Comprehensive assessment is done to determine performance skills and measure impairments mostly includes interview, observation and use of assessment tools. Specially with children it’s plays a vital role to get a clear picture of their development. Scales used by us are globally acceptable as well as according to their age to get current status of development, strength and difficulties. Intervention plan is set according to results of assessment considering difficulties in the performance component of functional skills. Intervention plan includes short term and long-term goals, which provides a road map for functional achievements. Assessment tools include: - ASQ ASQ-SE SHORT SENSORY PROFILE STRENGTH AND DIFFICUTIES questionnaire QUESTIONNAIRE for ASD Scales for Temperament M-chat -R These are few Assessment tools that are mentioned here for special need children. Assessment and Evaluation takes 2-3 session, we respect consent of parents and care giver. We belief in team work with parents or caregiver for the best therapeutic outcomes which follows with home program guideline.
Emotional Regulation Training
Now a days there dramatically increasing in mental health issues in children due to unstable Emotional circumstances. Deep pressure and proprioceptive input help the child to calm down and relax, apart from that there many different activities and breathing exercises used in structured way for emotional regulation. We provide effective guidance for managing children in specific situations such as Tantrums with encouragement of adaptive behavior.
ADL – Self Help Training
ADL means Activities of Daily living that everyone does but due to some impairment or neurological condition it become difficult or limited. According to functional performance skills and condition, this is done for functional transfer, Bathing, grooming, dressing etc. to maximize client’s independence and restore their quality of life. Training for ADL skills is very helpful to get confidence and increasing self esteem after a serious incidence like stoke or brain injuries. Children with special needs should be encouraged to learn and use these skills to achieve independence.
Early Intervention Services
We provide Early Intervention services which can help and focus eligible babies and toddlers (age birth to 3rd birth day) with delay or disabilities to learn many key skills catch up in their development, such as Physical (reaching, rolling, crawling and walking) Cognitive (thinking, learning, solving problem) Social emotional (playing, feeling secure and happy) Self-help (eating, dressing) With growing brain. We belief in getting best outcomes of therapy in early Identification of medical condition such as ASD and LD. Therapeutic approaches are highly effective in making more connection at brain level in this age group because of neuroplasticity of brain, which definitely supports in making bridge between dysfunctional measure to functional skills.
Rhythmic Movement and Primitive Reflex Integration
Primitive reflexes are very essential for infant life as it help babies to survive and thrive. Path of these reflexes follow U turn means they should be integrated after certain time. Children with some specific Retained reflexes such as ATNR and TLR faces difficulties with Motor skills such as crawling, bringing hand to mouth during infant whereas running, cycling, throwing, catching during preschool time etc. show developmental delay. We use this treatment approach after finding retained primitive reflexes signs that blocking normal development of child. We use these RMT and PRT Exercises to help child for their appropriate development and maximize functional independence.
Cognitive and perceptual training
Post stroke patient and other injuries in brain present with some degree of residual cognitive and/or perceptual impairment. They are assessed for their short term, long term and immediate memory, we do assessment for higher function of the patient. We utilize cognitive and perceptual assessment to establish a baseline of skill performance as well as setting goal and intervention plan. We understand that these cognitive skills are very essential part of daily life. This training is used with children as per their developmental need and difficulties according to assessment done in particular performance skills.
Fine Motor / Writing skill training
Children with dysgraphia (subtype of learning disabilities) and /or ADD are trained by using multi- sensory activities to improve children upper limb strength, upper limb co-ordination, hand strength, finger dexterity, eye hand co-ordination, visual perceptual abilities etc. to improve children sitting tolerance, posture, pencil grip and word legibility in handwriting task.
