We may ask you to wear loose, comfortable clothing in order for us to have a complete assessment.
Manual Therapy & Manipulation
Manual therapy and manipulation is a specialized form of physical treatment often used in conjunction with regular physical therapy techniques. This kind of physical therapy is delivered with specific hands-on techniques as opposed to device or machine in an attempt to relieve pain caused by muscle spasms, muscle tension and joint dysfunction. A bone and muscle assessment is usually performed before undergoing manual therapy and manipulation, our practitioner may need to conduct a full blood and nerve assessment of the affected area in order to decide whether or not there is great risk of complications from this pain management technique. This technique helps restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability.
Rehabilitation & Strengthening
Our rehabilitation aims at educating, motivating and facilitating recovery so that they can begin to enjoy life again. Many elderly people will have suffered strokes, falls and other medical problems that can leave them physically impaired. Rehabilitation exercises aim to return full function following injury through re-building muscle strength, endurance, power and improving overall flexibility and mobility.
Corrective Exercises
Corrective exercise is a movement or exercise chosen to correct a specific dysfunction, hence a technique that leverages an understanding to discourse and fix movement compensations and imbalances. We perform biomechanical assessments and can make semi-custom orthotics to suit the individual, supporting fallen arches, planter fasciitis, Morton’s neuroma and more. Ensuring a good biomechanical chain means less stress through knees, hips and spine and can correct other problems higher in the body.
Soft Tissue and Myofascial Release
Myofascial release focuses on reducing pain by easing the tension and tightness in the trigger points, over a broad area of muscle and tissue rather than at single points. It’s not always easy to understand what trigger point is responsible for the pain. We are able to perform pilates method at our rehabilitation for those suffering from longstanding low back pain and looking to get their core back into shape and improve their circulation.
